SHINee’s Key is a ‘rough city man’ for Valentine’s Day

SHINee’s Key updated fans on the group’s recent whereabouts, and also gave a Valentine’s Day greeting through a fun ‘rough city man’ concept photo.
On February 13th, Key wrote on his me2day, “It’s been a while!  Happy Valentine’s!“ By wearing glasses half the size of his face, Key attempted to show off the popular ‘city man’ concept with his sleek black suit. Maknae Taemin can also be seen behind him, staring off into the distance.
Fans replied back, “Chic city man!,” “You’re a photoshoot no matter what expression you make,” “Even his expressionless face is so lovely,” and “He exudes a different feel!”

SHINee Onew’s strong performance threatens Happy Together’s MC’s?

SHINee’s Onew is rising as a star MC. KBS2TV ‘Happy Together 3,’ set to air on February 10th, features TVXQ, Onew and f(x).
The show’s producer Jung Hwee Seob spoke to Newsen on February 9th and said the filming went well.
Onew sat next to MC Shin Bong Sun because the set was crowded with too many guests. “Onew did an excellent job based on his MC experience from ‘Night Star’,” said Jung.
Producer Jung added that Onew also surprised guests and staff members by ad-libbing some lines and smoothly hosting the show. “Even MCs like Yoo Jae Suk were on their toes,” said Jung. “Yoo Jae Suk even questioned, ‘Are you trying to take over our jobs?‘”
Onew had MCed ‘Night Star’, a show that unfortunately ended last year, with Shin Dong Yup, Gil, Yoon Jong Shin and Jang Hang Joon. It was Onew’s first MC gig but he was complimented for his natural MC skills. The show unfortunately, had to end due to KBS reform.

SHINee’s Onew sheds tears during SBS’s “Battle of Star Couples”

SHINee’s Onew shed tears during a SBS New Year’s special broadcast.
During SBS New Year’s special program, ‘Battle of Star Couples,’ Onew suddenly showed tears while participating in the third round of a corner called ‘Bolbulok (Chance) Eating Table.’
This corner involved star couples randomly choosing different kinds of foods and finding out their new year’s fortunes through it. The rules of the game in this corner asks for the couple to choose two food dishes; if they choose a normal food out of the two dishes, they win, but if they do not, they will be punished by being forced to eat a food that is hard to endure.
Onew was nicknamed ‘Endurance Onew’ for nonchalantly eating dishes that were hard to eat. Furthermore, Onew started shedding tears while eating rice cakes and caused everyone to be confused over whether or not he acted out the tears or actually ate very spicy rice cakes.
On this day, it was said that not only Onew, but all the idol guests showed incredible acting skills to the point where even the MCs who already knew the answers became confused.
Meanwhile, the truth behind endurance Onew’s tears can be found out through viewing ‘Battle of Star Couples’ on February 3rd.

SHINee’s Onew gets Swine Flu on November 7, 2009 at 5:32 am (O

The curse of the swine flu seems to have struck SHINee. Having only just reported hours earlier that Jonghyun had recovered fully from swine flu, it was reported now that SHINee’s leader, Onew has also been hit by it.
The announcement came at around 6pm on 7th November as it was reported that Onew had developed a gentle, mild fever last night. He was sent to the hospital today and tests have shown that he has contracted swine flu.
Onew has been prescribed Tamiflu and is now back home resting.
The other three SHINee members, KeyMinho and Taemin were also tested for precaution, and neither of them have shown any symptoms of the illness fortunately.
So that explains why SHINee wasn’t performing on Music Core as scheduled today.
So with Onew at home resting, it might look like SHINee will be performing as a 4-member group instead on the 8th November episode of Inkigayo. But it was revealed that Super Junior’s leader,Leeteuk will take the place of Onew for tomorrow.

Kind of OLD NEWS~ but still it is fresh in my MIND! poor oppa~Onew!! jijhhang!

[SPOILER] SHINee’s Onew tackles f(x)’s Luna

On January 23rd, many idol groups came together for the recording of MBC’s Lunar New Year’s special, “Idol Star Athletics Championship“.
During the event, fans caught a hilarious – but almost dangerous – incident between SHINee’s Onewand f(x)’s Luna. In the video, Luna and SHINee’s Minho are celebrating after Luna succeeds in clearing the high jump. As they’re jumping for joy, Onew comes running in to congratulate her and decides that he’s going to run right through the pole.
He ends up tripping over the mat and dives straight into Luna, who reprimands him playfully with a pat. Luckily, no one got hurt and it seems like they both got a good laugh out of the situation.
Check out the epic video below!

.Fans crash SHINee's Japanese site

SEOUL : There's no denying that Korean pop group SHINee is big in Japan.

Eager fans rushed to check out the boy band's official Japanese website on December 26, causing it to crash shortly after it launched, reported Japanese media on Tuesday.

The website launched at 8pm and within an hour, it recorded over 20,000 visitors, crashing the server. Its online member registration system was down for two days.

The website re-opened shortly after and had reportedly recorded over 100,000 page views within a week.

The five-member boy band which formed in 2008 has enjoyed much popularity in Japan though it has yet to make its debut there.

Response to SHINee's first overseas solo concert on December 26 in Tokyo was so overwhelming that they added a second show on the same day.

NO DOUBT! SHINee is VERY POPULAR now! i really want to see them perform live! i want to get close to them and let them sign my face! kekeke^^     but i think it's impossible. I live in Philippines kasi eh! huhuhuh .. TT____TT would you cry me a RIVER?? huhuhu ..

SHINee sparkles at first concert

The first two days of the New Year shone with SHINee, a K-pop group that held its first concert in Korea titled “SHINee World,” at the Gymnastics Gymnasium in the Olympic Park, eastern Seoul.

The boys of SHINee were dressed in black, wearing work boots, boasting their masculine beauty.

At a press conference before Sunday’s concert, the members seemed excited to hold the event on New Year’s Day and expected another prosperous year ahead. Taemin, the youngest band member, said they practiced singing a lot while Key said they will sing songs in new styles.

They graded their first concert only 30 out of 300. “We are strict in evaluating ourselves. But we gave it a low score so we would strive even harder for the next one,” Onew said.

When the five members appeared on stage one by one singing “The SHINee World,” the stadium was filled with ear-deafening screams. Most of the 10,000 seats were packed with females ranging from their teens to middle-age, from Koreans to overseas fans, waving turquoise-colored glow sticks. “The SHINee World” is the title of their first album as well as their fan club and the concert.

Jonghyun, who hurt his leg during a promotional tour in Indonesia last October, did not join in the strenuous dance performances. Instead, he emerged in the middle of the stage and showed off his singing ability. His vacant position was filled by a Chinese understudy.

While singing “Amigo,” the members literally flew over the audience suspended by wires. They landed in the middle of the stadium and moved around the seats on moving ladders, making the audience go wild.

Despite the cold weather outside, members were drenched in sweat when they finally said hello to the audience after singing six songs. “We are glad to open up the New Year with you,” SHINee said.

Afterward, each member presented solo performances. Jonghyun displayed his DJing skills when singing Whee Sung’s song “Girls” and Taemin rearranged SHINee’s “Romeo+Juliette” for his solo.

Minho and Key invited special guests to spice up the stage. Minho sang Usher’s “OMG” with Simon D of Supreme Team, while Key had f(x)’s Krystal to sing 3OH!3’s “My First Kiss” with him.

They also offered slow songs such as “Romantic” and “Graze” in perfect harmony and their first ever song “Replay” and “Love like Oxygen” from their debut album followed.

Last but not least, Onew chose something rather unusual for a boy band member to sing — “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s opera “Turandot.” With a 15-member orchestra, he sang the aria in a deep voice, receiving applause from fans.

“Island Baby,” a Korean children’s song arranged for the boy group, was another highlight. Members appeared on stage in white costumes and flew across the stadium once again. Onew, who appeared last with wings, landed on center stage, wrapping a child actor in his wings.

The crowd once again went wild when the boy band sang their hit songs “Ring Ding Dong” and “Lucifer.” Fans were on their feet and jumped up and down when the group presented “Up & Down” and “Ready or Not.”

For the encore, SHINee changed into their once trademark colorful slim-fit pants — Jonghyun in blue, Minho in orange, Taemin in yellow, Onew in green and Key in pink. “Having a concert in Korea was our dream and we finally achieved it,” Key said.

After singing “Jojo” and “One,” they thanked and bid goodbye to their fans who had filled the venue saying, “We like the ‘SHINee World’ the best!”

SHINee also held concerts in Tokyo on Dec. 26, drawing some 24,000 people. The group will officially release their Japanese debut album in March through EMI music.
